ABOUT US

Recent History

The Michigan Family and Consumer Sciences was founded in 2021 as a result of a merger between two previously-existing organizations: Family and Consumer Sciences Educators of Michigan (FCSEM) and Michigan Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (MiAFCS).

With renewed energy and passion, our team of FCS educators, CTSO professionals and collegiate partners is rebuilding our programming toward a stronger and more stable FCS profession across the great state of Michigan, to give our educators the tools they need and the support they deserve.

Get Involved: Lead with MIFCS

MIFCS welcomes dedicated and passionate FCS educators to join our Board of Directors to assist in expanding and supporting our program. Interested individuals may apply below and the applications are considered as they are received. Any Director may apply to run for an Executive Team position, which is voted on at the annual conference. Directors and Executive Team members must attend the annual conference, and Executive Team members must be members of AAFCS.
