ABOUT US

The Michigan Family and Consumer Sciences was founded in 2021 as a result of a merger between two previously-existing organizations: Family and Consumer Sciences Educators of Michigan (FCSEM) and Michigan Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (MiAFCS).

Shortly thereafter, another round of COVID swept across the state, delaying our ability to gather and stretching our team thin across their nonprofit and classroom responsibilities. As restrictions waned and life returned to "normal," we were excited to start planning state events again and bring our profession together.

With renewed energy and passion, our team of FCS educators, CTSO professionals and collegiate partners is rebuilding our programming toward a stronger and more stable FCS profession across the great state of Michigan, to give our educators the tools they need and the support they deserve.
